Orpingtons are big, fat, fluffy birds with happy, calm personalities.  They are a great "starter chicken" for children or beginning chicken owners.  Orpingtons lay a large beige or light brown egg.  This line is bred for production (not show) and are consistent layers. The hens are occasionally broody as well and do a great job raising chicks.
